Location: Angola, IN | This past weekend while fishing on Lake Tippecanoe, I had the biggest bass I've ever seen alive, try to inhale my Jackpot. It came flying out of the water (cleared the surface by 2'), and made a large splash....totally missing my lure. My brother Tom saw it and there was silence for a few moments.....we both knew it was a bass, but it was WAY to be big to really be a bass.
But it obviously was. It was a freak of a large mouth. How big?? State Record size possibly....seriously. I say around 10-12 pounds. 28-30" long. No crap.
The funny thing is, the very next cast, I hooked a 32-34" musky....same exactly spot. I let it shake off. Funny that a bass and a musky were living in the same hole.....the jumping bass perhaps drew the musky up and got her interested. Who knows.
But missing that bass really sucked!!! I hate bass, but that would have been one to catch. |
