Curious if anybody has an idea where the muskies below Eau Claire on the Chippewa come from. I have looked into stocking info on the DNR website and didn't see any recent stocking reports on the lower Chippewa for muskie.

I have seen one in the river myself but didn't catch it, around a 40" fish. Below is a video of someone catching a tiger, and it looks like they are below the last dam on the Chippewa, near the university.

I wonder if these are naturals, or are fish that were stocked further up river and managed to get swept down into the lower river?

They've always been native to the whole river as far as I know, density varies obviously. There's probably a few from upriver too, muskies will swim through dams.
