I don't have any yet for my boat and I have seen so many different types. Is there a type that works well for people? I would rather spend my money on one I don't have to drill into my boat as I have more then one boat and would like to be able to move them back and forth if I wanted to. Are the ones that just screw on reliable?? I feel like if a Ski hit it hard enough, it would fall off? any thoughts or suggestions on what I should get this year?? what has worked? what hasn't worked if any?

thanks for the information

Get the Down East Salty S-10. They are the screw on type and by far the BEST!

I would get Down easters for sure. The s-10 saltys you screw down the clamps and can be removed easy I have 8 of them never had a problem.
Best holders I have used

I've used the s-10 Saltys that were the screw on type. They do work just fine. When I upgraded my boat, I put different rod holders on, but I kept the screw on saltys and took them up north for my other boat.
