I use a Pflueger Trion baitcaster for small bucktails (musky killer type stuff) and that thing is awesome! For $100 I don't think you can't get a better low profile baitcaster. I have heard that the president is even better, so I don't think that would be a bad choice at all.

I tried out the new Citica on bucktails a couple weeks ago, and all I can say is AWESOME. Super longs casts and with a small bucktail you can't hardly tell there's a lure on there.

I have 2 presidents for bass fishing and they are nice. A very, very free spool. I was used to thumbs only with no brakes. I had to learn to use brakes on those reels. I wouldn't suggest using them for bigger bucktails w/ a 6:1 gear ratio though. They hold up well for bass (only heard one customer not approve of them) but I have no idea how they'd be for muskies. There is a widespool version of the president available.
