I have 4 rods. 6'10 H rated 1-5 oz, two 7'6 XH rated 3-8 oz, and a 9'0 XXH rated to 16 oz. I have 65lb braid on the 6'10, and the rest have 80lb braid. Not sure what leaders I should use for each of them? I have 130lb fluorocarbon and 174lb wire leaders. Each reel on the rods is a Daiwa Tatula 300. I was thinking of using the 6'10 for spinners, topwater, and jerk baits. The two 7'6's will be used for bigger jerk baits, regular size super D's, larger spinners and 11-inch whale tails. The XXH 9'0 I was going to use for mag super D's, and 14-inch whale tails. Does this sound right? Any recommendations on which leader I should use for each setup as I'm unsure of that? Also, when you guys cast the bigger stuff, do you overhand cast? When I bass fish and use 4-ounce swimbaits I tend to underhand lob cast the baits. If it matters, I fish out of a 19' bassboat.

Here's how you cast big baits.

I'm not a fan of flouro leaders.. I use 90and 130# braided wire leaders. The 7'6" rods would work well, but prefer a 9' XH for the rubber.

TCESOX...thanks for sharing the video.. I'm getting too old to throw big stuff all day, and will certainly give that technique a try..

I'm a believer in steel leaders, but that's me. The rest sounds about right though. What it comes down to for rod selection is comfort. My preferences may not be what you would be most comfortable with.

I have some real heavy rods and some lighter stuff too as far as leaders go sure I have some flouro but most are 174# or 240#
steel home made some with snaps most with solid rings. Different lengths some with swivels and some bare.
