| Thinking of making some leaders using 7 strand titanium and thus would be looking to purchase a spool of the stuff.
Requirements would be the following:
-Very heavy breaking strain, in the 100 to 150lb category. (Will be casting 2lb bulldawgs and other giant lures)
-Must be knotable. I hate crimps and like to make my leaders using figure 8 knots.
Anything on the market that might match these requirements?

Location: Northern Illinois | The largest stranded titanium I have seen is 100# by Finn-tastic but I have not seen them sell it in anything but a finished leader. You might try contacting them. They are a Canadian company. |

Location: SE, WI. | Hmmm, not sure why you need titanium. The AFW 7x7, 49 strand is very tieable. Been using it for many years. Comes in stainless color or .Camouflage. I use the 90 lb, but the next step up is 175 lb. Very flexible and very much kink resistant. Very popular in shark fishing.....SO..... JD |

| I would consider the afw stuff.
Would you say that the kink resistance lives up to what is claimed in the marketing? |

Location: SE, WI. | It works for me. I think it’s great stuff. Like anything, experiment! You can buy a small 30 ft. Spool. If you don’t like it, try something different. I never tried the 175. Not sure how that ties. JD |

Location: Northern Illinois | Concerning titanium, I have seen a strand or 2 break inexplicably on one leader. It must have been kinked or stressed somehow. Other than this one time, I have used titanium leaders for 2 seasons with no other issues. I monitor the leaders daily when fishing and am impressed with the performance. But for me, the jury is still out. I can't recommend titanium as a superior leader material to stainless steel. I have a pretty good idea how long SS lasts, but not titanium. |

| Titanium is a little tricky as tight bends can get stressed, though Terminator reduces the problem by shrink tubing the bends. I've had great luck and no failures on 75 lb Terminators, generally the snaps weaken before any strands break, plus they are extremely difficult to kink. Just my 2 cents. |
