With possible shortage of suckers I was going to try some bluegill (or other panfish). I was just wondering what the best way to rig them would be? And yes I live in WI so it's legal.

When I used them in the past, I'd put one single hook through the nose and let them swim. It was tough, because getting them to swim normally was tough. I tried a few treble hooks on the top of them and they never looked quite right.
I tried a perch once and that one was easier to rig like a sucker.

Keep your hooks low so the center of gravity is close to normal...

What about using a small pike?

I've used them for stripers, but not musky... hook through the nostrils and you're good to go. I doubt you'll be using any over 8".

Pepper.. I don't know where he's at in WI, but south of US10, there's a 26" minimum size.

The lake I am on in Oneida County also has a 26" minimum for pike. Not sure if it is lake by lake or not.

Odd..Can't find any mention of any lakes in Oneida Co. with that limit in the current regs... Share?

What about using a small pike?

On a recent backlash podcast Steve Gensen talked about using pike on a quick strike rig with success.
