Are guys in WI hanging any lures over the side of the boat as they cast the abyss? Will a Fuzzy Duzzit or rubber bait get hit just dead sticking it?

I know a few people have got them on small bucktails, or creature bait, bondy does this at st clair. One guy uses a number 5 mepps hanging off the back off says he gets a couple every year doing this.

I know guys that do this with mag and pounder Dawgs in fall instead of using $10 suckers. I don't see why it would hurt now we can troll in northern wi. Boat moving makes tail swirl and if there's waves, it gives it a jigging action

i think a dawg would work for sure. I know Jon Bondy has success with his baits doing it. I tried it once and I forgot to bring it in and took off. Snapped my line lol.

Gave up on it after I lost a nice one at boat that hit on figure eight and got wrapped up in dead stick bait and rod.

I toyed around with this a bunch of years ago. Never had anything hit a dead sticked bulldawg or giant tube but it seemed that when a fish would come in on a bait the mere presence of it hanging there kept them close to the boat a bit longer. Just long enough to grab a different rod and throw something else back at them.
