Posts: 154 | This morning I headed out fishing and everything was fine, after a while my battery seemed to be drained but felt awfully quick for it to drain that fast. I took it in and charged it. Battery gauge said 100 so I went back out. As soon as I put my trolling motor in for 5 seconds it was back to 0. Went home put a new battery in and was fully charged went out and once again after using it for 5 seconds it was shot. Not sure what the problem is but battery 2 always seems to be 100 charged but the other battery seems to always get shot no matter even if you have a new battery in. Any ideas? Posts: 154 | After getting up today the battery charged all night and was only at 50. Took it out and instantly shot. Works on slow speeds but as soon as you pick up speed it stops Edited by MNFisherman 7/4/2019 10:35 AM

Posts: 73 Location: Cedarburg, WI | How old is (are) the battery (batteries)? Have you tried swapping one with your starter battery to rule out issues with the TM and see if it cranks the main motor fine (to put it under a cheap load test)? Edited by Softwater 7/5/2019 1:54 PM

Posts: 8719 | Stupid question: Have you pulled the caps and checked the cells to see if any are dry?

Posts: 3470 Location: Elk River, Minnesota | Hiya!! I’m wondering if the issue may be the other battery. I have seen where the battery looks to show full charge on the charger but is actually not taking the charge. I’d also consider swapping the leads on the charger to see if maybe you have a charger issue.. if the battery that originally showed full charge takes a charge and the other one shows 100%, it is more likely the charger is the issue. I agree on checking fluid levels as well.. Steve

Posts: 154 | Turns out it was a bad circuit board, now the battery’s seem to drain on the battery condition gauge but everything is running fine

Posts: 152 | If you have a multimeter, put the leads on the posts. Should have at least 12.4 volts when fully charged .

Posts: 612 | Sudszee - 7/6/2019 8:21 PM If you have a multimeter, put the leads on the posts. Should have at least 12.4 volts when fully charged . ~ 12.4 or so once it sets for a bit. Directly after changing may be closer 13 Vdc. But the concern is that if the terminal voltage drops much below 12 Vdc it can't turn over the motor. As for a deep cell battery needed for lights, fishfinder, trolling motor they can still run as the battery gets down to ~ 10 VDC. Good luck.
