We met the first time in the 70's when across the aisle from each other in boat shows. A true gentleman then and always, he will be sorely missed in the industry.

Legendary is a word I believe fits for him.

He will be long remembered. I have never heard or read a bad word about him.

May he R.I.P.

Bet he's got a sweet ride now!! A legend indeed!!

May his family, friends, and all those mourning his passing find peace and comfort.

His legacy will continue for many many years to come...

Wouldn't it be cool if Ranger as a tribute mailed every Ranger owner world wide a decal.

It’s likely an uncomfortable challenge for Ranger with Wood, family members, and many key Ranger execs having left Ranger to form Vexus Boats. Probably like seeing Brett Farve in a purple jersey was for Packer Fans. Folks got over that but it took a while. Vexus has pretty well said in their promos that everything that made Ranger great (including Forrest Wood) was now just down the road at their new factory. That said however, I enjoyed getting placed at a lunch table with Forrest and his wife at the Ranger plant several years ago. I’m not likely to ever forget the simple charm, down home friendliness, and genuine interest to ask me all about myself. I knew I was sitting with a really famous guy, a pioneer of his industry, but he was the guy acting like me and a few others sitting there were the important folks it was his honor to meet. I was totally humbled and impressed, all at the same time.
