| Here in Minnesota there are some guys cleaning up using their side imaging on the sand in certain lakes.
These guys can pinpoint fish like a navy destroyer chasing down a U-boat and it IS working. However I know of at least a couple characters this winter that are going to fashion out their own 57 - "oh my god look at the size of this one" cutout muskie they will stake off the bottom in familiar areas.
The Minnesota dnr has been doing something similar to this for years on the gunflint trail putting out wooden grouse decoys next to roads in an effort to catch people shooting out the Windows of their vehicles.
Decoy muskie seem a little bit "bumpkin' ish but I'm still looking forward to the results  |

In a prior thread someone asked what the most important feature in electronics was, I was one of two that said side image, most of you old farts said gps. Lol! |

Location: oswego, il | It's pretty funny, i thought about making a 40" rubber musky then taking out on a gold chasers lake and mishandling the #*#* out of it. Electronics are only going to get better though, i can only imagine how much better than that it's going to get.

| Just a note, what they are doing is not at all similar to what the DNR is doing to catch violators. One act is to stop illegal activity, the other is just some folks who have a problem with other folks who have taken the time to learn a tool to fish successfully in certain areas. |

| great... Here comes a whole herd of a-holes preaching about how they caught muskies in a rowboat with a 9HP Johnson and a 5'-0" pool cue back in the day when you had to run over a reef to find it...
Technology has made it "easier" to catch fish if you want to look at it that way. But then the work you have to go through to learn how to work all that crap isn't any less than the work folks had to go through 30 years ago on the water with no electronics. Musky decoys? Hilarious! I wonder how long it will take guys to figure out that same fish has been there in the same place for a week... |

I have a deep v with main and kicker 3 depthfinders sidefinder ipilot downriggers and spend a lot of time on big water.
I also have leaky 12 foot tinny chained to a tree up a small river for which I keep a 4hp motor in the back of my truck. Thats where I hide on weekends no electronics 1 six foot rod a hairless spinnerbait and a paintless suick. I can go all day and not see another soul it's wonderful. Some times I forget the motor and use oars. Today I'll be on the Larry full enclosure and propane heater that's wonderful too. |

3. If you complain about it you only make yourself look petty and dumb.
4. Like Mike said, this is going to be much more difficult than advertised and most successful attempts will be gone by some method of action within a month.

Location: Elk River, Minnesota | I think I'd be looking forward to seeing someone put a decoy out and watch some boat sit there and cast cast cast cast cast all day to something that won't move...
It'd be great to be a fly on the wall in the boat listening to a couple people talk about how that fish is just completely turned off...

| I don't think this has anything to do with anger or jealousy just some fun from guys who want to mess with their usual tribe in the usual spots not a declaration of war.

Location: Eastern Ontario | Just take a boat bumper and anchor it horizontally about 2 feet or so off the bottom. I know of one that was marking a rock that slipped off into deep water watched people fish it for the best part of a year |
