| Just a general question. I got a opportunity to buy a brand new 8ft st croix premier heavy/fast rod for $100. Do you think it is worth it? I know the trend that longer rods are better but it just seems like a good deal to pass on. I have back up rods but I just think it a good deal |

| Perfect rod for twitching smaller crankbaits, jerkbaits, and twitchbaits... and getting them to do things nobody on earth can get them to do with 9' or longer rod. Even if you just so happen to watch a YouTUBE video where someone tells you that you can do everything with a 9' rod that you can do with an 8' or less rod - it's not possible. (based on any human under 6'8" fishing out of a typical 16-18 ft v-bottom boat)
Your rod is the absolute perfect rod for twitching Big Game twitchbaits. |

Yes, I'd second that. And they also make great live-bait rods in cold temps.
