Anyone been out on the Mad chain since we got all this rain? Any fish moving?

I was on a pretty steady bite for over a week, fishing blades in shallow weeds. Caught 4 fish and moved probably 10+ others in about a weeks time. Ive seen multiple fish on every trip out these last couple weeks.

A couple days ago we got all that rain and the lakes are at their all time highest levels. I got out yesterday on Monona, the water was a good 2-3ft higher than other day. And water temp dropped from 78 to 69. tried same pattern as earlier in the weeks and no fish. Got out again this morning, water was a few inches higher than yesterday. Fished 5 hours, not even a sniff of a musky...

After a flood like this what should i expect the fish to be doing? Does it usually turn the fish on or off? Should i be fishing deeper, shallower? Slower? Im having back surgery in 2 weeks, and wont be able to fish again until mid November after the surgery. So im hoping to get a couple more fish in the boat before then. Thanks tight lines!

All the lakes are slow no wake right now, but I havent seen or heard anything about any launches being closed.. I just saw a couple guys launching at Olbrich. Figure 8- can you provide a link or something about the launches being closed

Signs up at the launches that they are closed to public. Look where you would pay to park... I also called parks dept. you can call them 608-266-4711. Was told tickets will be given if you launch.

I just went down to olbrich to check it out and there is indeed a sign at the pay station saying "launch closed to public". Bummer. There was 2 truck and trailers in the lot, didnt see any tickets in their windows. and i could see a guy just out a ways from the launch chucking blades.

Its going to take a loonngg time for that water level to go back down.. So looks like the chain is going to be off limits for a while. Bummer

Odd, someone on lake-link said they called parks department and was told launches are open, just no wake. I have annual pass and would not stop at pay station. Who do you believe?

City launches are currently closed. County launches are not (yet). Pretty sure that leaves Monona off limits but Waubesa (at least Goodland Park) open for now. Not sure if Lake Farm is city or county

Probably about 15 boat trailers at Babcock Park on Waubesa this Morning. Also drove by Olbrich on Monona and there were 4 boat trailers there. I did not see any tickets on the trailers at Olbrich.
