Hi all, with Mercury's nuclear assault on other outboard MFG with the New 6 cylinder 4 stroke 150 - 200 and the new bone crushing V 8 200- 300 hp that killed the Optimax 2 stroke , Is the E-Tec done(lone Ranger) and does anyone know if Zuki, Honda or Yammy has anything brewing to counter Mercury's barrage? Going with New Merc 200 HP V 8 on 1875 Pro V Bass, No substitute for cubic inches we used to say in the old days. I know reliability the other 3 are rock solid.Thoughts.

Put first 20 hours on my new 250 XS this past week on Lake of the Woods. Really like it so far. Ask me in three years and I will really tell you what I think. The XS has a growl that I didn't expect. Snaps my Warrior 2090 right out of the water with tremendous authority. It's a blast!

I bought a 2013 E-tech 115 hp brand new in 2015. I’ve had nothing but problems with the thing. I’m guessing it’s just my crappy luck but man has it been frustrating. Evinrude customer support is very unimpressive in my opinion. Wish I had a merc. The motor has less than 50 hours on it. Sad.

Sorry to hear this. I know it is a terrible feeling when you can't rely on your motor. A guy in my club has had nothing but problems with his E-tech and had it in the shop 3 times this year.

I had no problem with my 150 Yamaha bought new boat in 2012 went with another 150 Yamaha still no problems. I'll buy a new rig in 2025 so I will have a new rig in retirement unless things change I'll get another Yamaha

Thanks Paul. It stinks. We’re leaving for Eagle Friday and wondering what the next issue will be.
