Subject: Connecting 2 transducers to my Humminbird 798ci

I bought a Ranger boat with a Lowrance thru hull transducer, is there a way to connect my Humminbird 798 to 2 different transducers? One would be the Lowrance thru hull transducer for high speed 2D sonar and the second one for the supplied 798 transducer for when this transducer is in the water. Apparently Ranger boats (1860VS) don’t have a good place to mount external transducers for when driving on plane so they need to be mounted higher up, but when not on plane the transducer is in the water. I am thinking the AS-SIDB-Y cable from the humminbird and an adaptor to the Lowrance transducer (Motorguide Tour Series Sonar Ready Humminbird 7-Pin Sonar Adapter) and the other part of the "Y" to the 798's transducer. Do you think this will this work?

Thanks
