Sponge, i don't believe the bait is out yet actually. I talked to the petersen guys at the mn show and it won't be out untill may if my memory serves me correct. Great bait, seen a demo on it and a rattle that is deeper and bigger than a squirley burt.

Todd, does it sink fast, medium, etc? I also checked out the Duke baits; they look just like the 006s/007s that Jimmy Baker used to make, a Cave Run favorite. May get a couple of those too...

Hey Dirk! I called them yesterday, but they don't think they'll get the Joker in until June. Before long they may even include a full page color photo of the "Bait of the Year", and have to send the catalog in an unmarked plastic wrapping; imagine the excitement of ripping off the plastic to view a life size neck-ed bait, glistening seductively on a dock in the morning sun...:O

Sponge, I seen mesikomer work the bait in a pool demo and it stayed up around what a manta would do. Great action got my attention that's for sure and the rattle it has is second to none.

Good deal Todd, I said I wasn't going to buy any more baits to collect dust, but then again I said years ago I'd never get married again, and a myriad of other "I'll nevers", so maybe I should change that to more "I'll try not tos" instead!

Not me! Oh no! I'm sittin by the dock of the bay waitin for a shipload of Sliders commin my way(end of May). Not those White Castle Sliders. Salmo Sliders. The new baits have caused such a "stir" in my kneck of the woods that the "locals" have a new dance called "The Electric Slider".

Check em out: http://www.salmo.com.pl/ click on"how to fish" then "Jerkbaits"

Sponge, who makes Duke baits? (Don't tell me Duke) Is there a website? Are 006 and 007's still available to purchase? Thanks.

The "Duke" was a 60s bait, appropriately named for a song, the "Duke of Earl"! Actually it can be found on www.simplyfishing.com. Petersen Tackle makes it; I found it while looking for the Joker. Go to the site, click on "Online Catalog", and look for the Peterson Duke/Joker, then click on it. They remind me of the 00 series by Sir Jimmy Baker, but he no longer makes them, at least for now. I had hoped to see him at the Cave last week but ran out of time. His baits are UNREAL, and I have but 3, make that 4 left; I did obtain a RARE short diver in red/black. Check the Dukes out, and let me know what you think; the shape looks real nice.
Raze, let me know when the Chubby Darters arrive; wish I had some now for suspended rockfish for sure. How about the Sliders, are they here yet? Lets not let them slipski awayscus!
