Posts: 38 | Hey gang, Just wondering if your experiences throwing magnum bulldogs with a TI XH rod. I know they are at the upper end of the rang for the rod but figured I'd see what everyones thoughts are.

Posts: 3 Location: MN | Never had any problems with it. The XXH throws them like a champ but I threw them with the XH before I ever had an XXH rod.

Posts: 2687 Location: Hayward, WI | I have an XH and XXH, both 9 footers. I use the XH for Mag Dawg sized baits and save the XXH for Pounders. The XXH is actually pretty versatile though and would also make a great Mag Dawg rod too.

Posts: 89 | I have thrown pounders and landed fish with them on both the XH, and the XXH. Both handle the job well. I get more cast distance with bucktails/mags with the XH I get more pounder distance with the XXH. Both can do Either job as far as I'm concerned When I started out in this money pit of a sport I was a 1 rod guy so being able to do a lot of things with 1 tool was important.

Posts: 1283 | I have both also For what ever reason the XH seems stiffer then the XXH, but the XXH loads up more and I can get more distance on the XXH no matter what bait Im throwing.

Posts: 38 | Thanks for the info guys. I already have a 7' 6" xh for jerks and glide baits and was thinking of getting a longer on for mag dawgs and bigger blades.

Now I don't feel so bad. I am still a one rod guy. I do plan on changing that this winter though.

Posts: 38 Location: WI | I also use the TI 7'6" xh for jerks, minnow baits etc. and the 9" xhtelescoping for everything else. Great rods and customer service.

Posts: 910 Location: South-Central VA | To the OP, my choice would be the 9' XXH. I love both the XH and XXH but I've found myself using my XXH for most things. I'm able to throw baits as small as double 9's and 2oz crankbaits with it as well as the mag dogs, double 12's, etc. The XH will handle the mag dogs, but they are on the very high end of what I'd throw with it. jeremy

Posts: 815 Location: Waukee, IA | I have a 9' XH TI and it throws mags very well. It starts to struggle with the shallow MegaD's which weigh 11.5 ounces. The lightest I like to throw with it is double cowgirls at 2.8 ounces. Even cowgirls don't fully loaded the rod but they still cast pretty well. I use the rod mostly for DC 10s and 13s, reg/mag dawgs, medussas, swimbaits, big crankbaits and bondy baits.
