| I have some left over suckers I want to use next weekend. Can I put them in a large tub and run a hose to it and let the well water overflow constantly. Would that be enough or would I still need an aerator or a whole new system? |

Location: Watersmeet, Michigan | A trickle of water should do the trick, provided it's not chlorinated. Adding a simple aerator, such as that used for a minnow bucket or aquarium, would help.

Location: Hayward, WI | If the temps are generally around 60 or below I'd guess they'll keep well like that. Well water would usually be better than a lot of the tap water that's chlorinated now.

Location: Minnesota | Groundwater is generally very low in dissolved oxygen. You should find a way to agitate the water to add oxygen.
A simple option would be to mount a garden hose a couple of inches above the surface of the water and attach a fitting on the end that pressurizes and concentrates the stream of water. |

| I could put a valve on the end of the hose and pinch it back so its more spraying in there. If I do that would I not need an aerator? |

Spend $7 on an aerator. You won't waste a bunch of water. That aerator will likely last many years. |

| I have kept suckers for over a week, in a large cooler with well water. I would just put the hose in and let it overflow a couple times a day. My well has a lot of iron in it also. Looked ugly but the suckers lived. |

| I had a 4x8 metal trailer I lined with heavy duty plastic sheeting, got a dual air pump and running 55 degree well water continuously. Do I need to feed them?

Location: Oconomowc, WI | Suckers (and most fish) can easily go weeks if not longer with out food. Putting food in there will just bring the water quality down. |

| Get some water softener salt to toss in there, it helps with their slime coat in hard water I guess. |

| Definitely spend the $$$ on an Aerator. Aside from that you are good. You can get water additives like Fin Saver at the pet store. They don't seem to mind that. I even feed htem fish pellets, but they do not seem to eat much when in the tank. No idea why, but I'm not keeping them as pets so whatever. I just want the most active sucker when the Musky shows up. |
