Does anyone know where I can the woven, plastic, protective rod sleeves for my beloved TI rods. I can't seem to find them to fit 9' rods.

James - ready made market here -

I am actually thinking about putting one on every rod we sell. I imagine you would like that but would others see this as a waste or a nice extra? My fear is that 50% or more of the rod socks would just gt taken off and never used and thus a waste of money for us to do it... Or my other thought was to sell them at cost with the rods if the buyer wanted one and just price them real low like around $3. Try http://www.mudhole.com/ too. They have everything you can dream of for rods.

Put up a poll and have a vote. Big crowd right here to base your idea on. I'd use em.

Mudhole - nope.

Thorne Bros - nope.

They all have them - just not long enough.

Look up "The Rod Condom" on the web. I have one of these for just about every rod I own. Dwight is a great guy to deal with, his product is very good quality, and his prices can NOT be beat. He has all sorts of options for both spinning and casting. Length options as well as options for grommets and bungee straps. Note: if buying for your musky rod as you stated, purchase the spinning rod sleeve. It is larger diameter than the casting rod sleeves and fits over the last larger eye of our musky rods.

I say just charge the extra $3-$5 for those that want it.

X2 - have them available for purchase. Don't add to the cost of the rod or reduce your margin.

Just have them available for sale.

I'll take 3 right away.

These are the ones I already have in production for the new Vexan walleye rods. Its not that much more to have 4 lengths made. 9', 8'6", 8' and a rod sock for 7'6" rods. You guys keep getting me into trouble with my wife! I keep telling her I am "reducing" the inventory and I keep ending up with more at the end of the year

I think many would end up not being used, i would think it's a lot better just to sell them alone as an option.

X2 . why reduce your margin or increase price over something that probably will get sidelined by a good portion of the masses.

I agree, offer them for sale. I'd guess a good number of guys would buy them, especially at a low price. I always thought of trying one, but I can't guarantee I would actually use them. I'd probably be more likely to use them on my walleye/panfish rods since they actually fit in my rod locker and tend to get tangled up with each other.

Yea, I would have to agree. You might as well make a bit of a profit instead of just including them. Besides what if people just think it's to protect it when it's being shipped and then just throw it out. Besides, your prices are very reasonable so these shouldn't be a exception:)
