They really do have great action, and Ive had them forever. I dont use these cause they were my dads. Does anyone make something like this?

They're flatfish, I believe.

A google search showed that there appears to be modern versions made by Worden's and Yakima bait company.

Those look like old wardens flat fish. Kwikfish makes a big one today, K15 i believe and a jointed one thats even bigger, J20 if im not mistaken.

Not canadian wigglers. Those are more cupped and don't have the hook hangers. Flatfish is what they are. The U20 is a dead giveaway.

I agree with the others... Flatfish. I still have at least 2 or 3 of the ones you have pictured. Also have a Musky sized one (T50 5") that puts up more fight than a lot of Walleyes I've caught. Pretty popular and successful bait back in the day. They made quite a few different sizes, and could catch just about anything on them. Nice table.

i do believe those are older HELIN FLATFISH. lazy ike's have a metal nose cover by the line tie.

They are cool,need to get some new ones. The big one is 5" and the small one is just over 3". Think these were muskie size back then?

If you are a lure collector, or they have sentimental value, keep them with the collection in their original condition. I use some of the old stuff from my dad from time to time, but only with a leader... just in case. In your first pic, the 2nd lure up from the bottom (crackle finish frog pattern), I've found to be irresistible to Northerns.

run them slow. I have a few older wooden ones in the box.they were built 5 miles from my home. the f-4 were great for walleyes tipped with worms.

There isn't a fisherman on the west coast that doesn't have some of these. Thousands and thousands are sold every year. This lure is absolutely killer on salmon. We wrap a small piece of herring, sardine, or tuna on the belly of the lure and then run it down near the bottom with either lead or divers. Mostly we use kwikfish which look identical to this lure, they have a slow wide wobble and will dive a fair bit too in the larger sizes.

Here's real old flatfish. Back in the 20's my grandpa row trolled this bait with silk line in a steel boat for tanker pike

i wonder how they did the thru wire construction on these old wood baits, the center wire runs from the eye thru the curve and out the tail.

I have a few in the cardboard box still lol. when they sold therewere barrels of bodies in the trash here.. everyone. had one on there boat keys for floatation.

I found some new flatfish at a local shop in the 6" size. Ill grab a couple next time Im over there. Still need to order some of the Naze baits.
As for these Ill just keep them as is.
