Posts: 125 | Do you agree or have suggestions? I'm leaving for Price County Thursday and the lake, per the reviews i have seen, looks to be post turnover. There is some COLD weather coming this weekend, cold as in low to mid 40s during the day and it might snow Saturday night. Do cold fronts during cold weather activate fish rather than turn them off during a cold front during warm weather? My locations I was going to cover were going to be the remaining weeds and 8-12 ft breaks to deeper water off points and islands. Suicks in the weeds and cranks off the breaks. Everything fished real slow right? I was thinking twitches/rips with lots of pauses. Should i bother with bucktails? Should i expect some good fishing or stay warm in my cabin??

Posts: 4343 Location: Smith Creek | Cold all week so the front this weekend won't be that drastic. Fishing will be good. Small windows, not a ton of chances, but you'll contact fish doing what you're doing (assuming you're dragging meat, too).

Posts: 574 Location: Elk Grove Village, IL & Phillips, WI | I don't think anywhere in Price county is post turnover. Just had surface temps from the mid 60s mornings and low 70s by mid-day last weekend. I know it's getting colder, but it ain't there yet!

Posts: 4343 Location: Smith Creek | Bloom being mistaken for turnover. When those dirty lakes turn crystal clear then you're post turnover. Hasn't happened yet. Edited by Flambeauski 9/30/2014 9:56 AM

Posts: 4343 Location: Smith Creek | With Craig? Yeah, your plan sounds good. Usually you can find action a little shallower too. There's fish in the 2-8 foot range all year, before, during, and after turnover. Edited by Flambeauski 9/30/2014 10:44 AM

Posts: 23 | Will also be fishing like a crazy person this weekend and trying to focus on shallow weeds and breaklines near structure. Will post how it goes for me, last week things were going well in the shallows til the warm weather showed up.
