Posts: 470 | The only lake with 'Ski's I've heard of in that area (a line between Chi and Indy) is Wolf Lake in Hammond. But there's no regular stocking program I'm aware of. I've seen photos of fish caught there and been told by the local bait shop owners that they are caught and released in the fall and spring but I've never fished there. Here's a list of Muskie Lakes (and the county they are in) stocked by the DNR for Indiana: Bass Lake -Sullivan Ball Lake -Steuben Barbee Lakes- Kosciusko Bruce Lake- Fulton Everett Lake- Allen James Lake- Kosciusko Loon Lake- Noble Plover Pit- Bartholomew Sandpiper Pit-Bartholomew Skinner Lake- Noble Tippecanoe Lake-Kosciusko Lake Webster-Kosciusko There may be some I'm not aware of, and I'd love to get that info if there is one. Until I hear otherwise, I head east to Kosciusko county and their excellent lakes. HTH, RandalB

Posts: 6 | THANKS FOR THE INFO. TECHNICALLY IT DOESN'T NEED TO BE IN A STRAIGHT LINE, JUST EQUIDISTANT FROM EACH CITY. THANKS AGAIN!!

Posts: 53 | Pretty sure Lake Shelbyville would be about the same distance from chi town and Indy. Never fished it for muskies, but it's supposed to be a solid IL musky fishery.

Posts: 427 | I would not waste my time at shelbyville. It has went down hill big time the last five or six years. There is a lot better fishing that is closer to both cities. Your best bet would probably be the North Webster area lakes, very good numbers with a decent shot at a nice fish.

Posts: 470 | Checking the list I posted, it seems that Bruce lake in Fulton County might also be an option. Water temps may be high at the moment, it being a small lake and all but it's between Chi and Indy and has 'ski's in it. Never fished it personally, but there is an article from the IN DNR about surveying it that seems pretty good. Action waters maybe.... Any of you fellow hoosiers fished it before? RandalB

Posts: 53 | Thanks for the info on shelvyville. Like I said, I don't have first hand experience there but knew it is pretty close to a 3 hour drive from both areas. Good luck in your search for a destination.

Posts: 6 | Thanks for the lake list RandalB. We've decided on Tippecanoe. Has anyone had any luck on it?

Posts: 192 | I have heard they were being stocked in Waveland. Any truth to that? I think they also recently stocked Eagle Creek near Indy but not ready for fishing yet.

Was the DNR lurking behind trees? Tip toeing around with binoculars? Wearing all black? Peeking in windows at the boat launch? Just being generally creepy? I would consider all those "stalking." :o) Sorry, couldn't help it. Steve

Posts: 192 | Opposite direction but same state......I'm going to try to get out on one of the two pits they stocked at Blue Grass (near Evansville) next weekend. I tried it one time a couple of years ago but didn't catch any that time. I've seen reports of low forty inchers. Also heard they lost a lot of fish during spring flooding last year though.
