Location: Minneapolis, MN | So I have a Tranx PG that I got in the Spring and twice this year so far I’ve had the side plate pop off while in use because the “screw” that you turn from closed to open in order to pop off the plate eventually turns itself to open. A couple time I’ve noticed the “screw” isn’t in the right position so I’ll turn it back to closed, but I clearly don’t catch it all the time. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a simple fix? Am I hurting anything by waiting for the season to be over before getting this looked at? |

| Try a drop of lock-tite. |

| As I read it I Don't think it a actual screw he is referring to, and i wouldn't fill the locking mechanism with locktite.
If you want to wait on sending, it in, i would suggest a piece of duct tape, over the lock to keep if from turning(and then open) and i couldn't see any harm in doing this. |

Location: Mt. Zion, IL | Loosen the friction knob and then turn the side plate thumb screw until it clicks into place. I had a reel from a friend that kept doing this and that was the problem. |

| Be curious what you find out, as when I fish with a tranx the "movement/flex" of the side plate was annoying, especially for a high dollar reel. Be curious if there is a fix. Thanks. |

| It happens to me too and I haven't found a fix. I just check it frequently. |

Location: Mt. Zion, IL | Remove the turnkey from the sideplate and file the area that meets the cam lock to the frame. Be careful and don't take much off. Count strokes with a flat file and match the other side. |

Location: Mt. Zion, IL | File the side plate. I tried a shim and it was the wrong way to go. One if my two had a loose side plate, the other is super tight. Sorry for any confusion. |
