Posts: 216 | Thanks for the great deals through the winter guys.i caught my new personal best 54" on sept 1st while casting a lure I bought from David Billy, with a sweet custom x rod I got from Muskie Cat and a revo winch I got from Ronix. All great deals on used gear that works really well. Had about $350 in the whole setup. If I could post the pic from my phone I would. Only got 3 semi-decent pics because she was so heavy and I was shaking so much I just felt like I couldn't hold her up anymore, and I wanted to get her back in quick. She fought hard and swam off strong hopefully to be caught again another day, I've got her address now! Thanks again guys, still smiling.

Posts: 216 | I don't know how to post em or if it's possible from my phone. After this fish I realized I want a bump board. The ruler we use is a sticker on the middle seat of the boat. When you bump em they actually go past the start of the tape because the boat side is not square with the end of the tape that's on the seat. And I didn't pinch the tail which we don't do anyway. After release we toasted in celebration and were discussing the bump so we put the bottle up against the side of the boat at the end of the tape like a straight edge and we could defiantly be shorting our fish a bit. Never really mattered till it was "my big one". Lol, oh well

Posts: 1144 Location: Minnesota. | Congrats Jason. One nice fish!! I got my PB 54" er this summer and can relate about holding her up. I had trouble... And I also didn't feel like fishing much after that girl. But I did...;-)) I've taken a few 50's. There's SO MUCH difference other than just 4 inches from the 50" fish to that 54! Nice going. Jeremy.

Posts: 1023 | Wow. Nice. Who cares about the measurement. Figure out what it should have been and then use that number. I would kill for a fish like that.

Nice fish, I have landed low 50's but lost numerous mid 50's, there is a huge difference, awesome job on getting it done. The power difference with an extra few inches is huge:-) Edited by BenR 9/3/2014 11:33 PM
