Looking for a little help / advice. I was up on LOTW for the Gil Hamm. While up there my 2007 150HP Optimax started acting up. When I shut the key off the fuel and engine oil pumps both continued to run. To make it through the week of fishing, I had to disconnect the battery every time I arrived at a fishing spot.

I Googled it and found three potential problems.
1) Bad main power relay
2) Bad fuel pump relay
3) Stray voltage off of the ignition switch

After arriving home, took it to my dealer. He tells me no go on any of the above. The only way he could correct the problem in the shop was hooking up an ECM from another motor he had.

Being it is a long holiday weekend, he has to order a new ECM and fix it next week. Since this new part is $1,800 I am asking if any of you have any other ideas.

I bought this engine in 2007 when Mercury was running a 5 year warranty special. Just my luck that has now expired. Perfect timing.

Any other ideas? Not really unless you can find the part elsewhere for less and a mechanic willing to install.

Probably worded my question poorly. Really wondering if there is anything else I should ask the dealer to check before he plugs in that pricey ECM. Maybe something he and I didn't think of. BTW, I do trust my dealer. I think they are a good bunch. Just trying to make sure.

if it does come to getting a different board look on ebay, there is a bunch you can probably find a replacement "cheap"

Ask them to reflash it and see if it helps. If not call Simon Motorsports in Ca and talk to Eric.

Thanks
I had to Google re-flash.
I'll ask them to try.
