| We are looking at planning a trip to Canada sometime in 2015. We do a lot of musky fishing in Wisconsin but none of us have ever been musky fishing in Canada before. I have read a lot of the posts on this site and have learned a lot of valuable information. I am hoping someone will have some additional information and/or recommendations for us. We are looking at a week long stay, boat rentals would be nice so we would not have to take two boats with us. $1,000 per person would be the max price, but the cheaper the better...most importantly we are looking for the best possible musky fishing we can find, lodging and everything else is secondary.
Also interested in any good books/articles that might be useful.

Location: Wisconsin | Tough to beat Lake of the Woods from early July through early September. Lots of options on where to stay with something that should fit your needs. Prime times of mid July through first part of August tend to fill early, so I'm told. |

Location: Almond, WI | Do you mean $1,000 max for lodging/boat rental or $1,000 for everything? Remember the farther in you go, the more gas you will burn and that can add up quick.

I second that.
$1000 on most any of the reputable lakes should be easy, especially coming from Wisconsin. You can always negotiate and a lot of these places will give first-timers a good deal if you ask for it, especially if you book before the sports shows in Jan/Feb.
I've been to several, we go every year. Musky Bay Resort on Crow (and LOTW), Eagle Lake Island Lodge, are atop my list, but I've been to several others. PM me if you want more info. |

Location: North St. Paul, MN | We got back the last week of June from our annual trip to Lac Seul (Onaway Lodge). We pulled up two boats, all our food, booze, beer, water, and pop. Bought minnows and gas at the lodge. We also rented one of the camp boats with a 50hp yamaha 4 stroke (sweet little motor). The grand total was 1097.00 for each guy. Unfortunately no muskies on that end of Lac Seul.
I would think that for a group of 4, in one vehicle not pulling a boat, and going to Eagle or LOTW or Wabigoon you'd be able to stay well under a grand. Plus, on Lac Seul anyway a lot of the resorts include gas into the boat/motor rental. The resort owners that we've come across are willing to work with you and your budget/restrictions if you talk to them. |

| Thanks for the information! As far as the fishing goes, as long as there is a chance at getting something over 50 we would probably be looking for somewhere to get as many mid 40's as possible. |
