Posts: 1901 Location: MN | I have a '95 690vs. Uses a thin little water cable that cracked and started leaking up under the dash right at the gauge. I cut it there and for now have it taped over the side of the boat so it pees outside. But I can't seem to find the other end of it back by the motor or transom. Where did they hide this so I can disconnect and stop the flow? Edited by Propster 8/6/2014 7:25 AM

Posts: 5874 | Oil pressure? More information, like what motor, would help. Edited by Shep 7/24/2014 8:25 AM

Posts: 1901 Location: MN | Hey guys, sorry, I wrote this one night early in our trip to Canada and then proceeded to not have good wi Fi service the rest of the trip and then I forgot about it until now. Yes, I meant water pressure gauge. And the more I think about it, might be nice to have it working rather than rely on looking back at the pee hole on a regular basis. So can the end of the cable/hose just be reattached to the back of the gauge? Or do I need a new gauge, and if so can I get one at Grainger or somewhere other than ordering from Ranger? Secondly, does the water need to be removed from the line or should it be full? If it should be removed, how do you do that and with what? I'm thinking air compressor maybe but what fitting? Final question, what should it read under normal operating conditions? It's a '95 Merc 150 2-stroke. Thanks! Edited by Propster 8/5/2014 11:37 PM

Posts: 798 Location: Delavan, WI | mine doesnt leak but stopped working a few years back -i know the intake water port is on the lower unit somewhere on the bottom towards front its a little notch - hose may run internally up inside cover i think - it looks to be a pain to replace thats why i havent messed with mine yet Edited by muskymartin67 8/6/2014 6:18 AM

Posts: 1169 Location: New Hope MN | Propster, water pressure line popped off the gauge over winter one year due to expansion of the frozen line. It came off right under the dash. You should be able to reattach it very easily. You don't need to drain the water out of the line. Just reattach it. Mine used a brass ferrule that slid over the OD of the tubing. The ferrule was shot and I should have replaced it. The gauge works fine, but does have a little fog inside.

Posts: 333 Location: menasha wi 54952 | I have a 1997 175EFI and the water pressure reads about 12psi while on plane. Depending on where the crack is in the line, and you have enough length in the line, just reattach to the gauge and you should be good to go. If you need to replace just do a google search. I replaced mine last fall. The kit comes with everything including the water line. MR http://www.basspro.com/Teleflex-Marine-Amega-Series-2-Water-Pressur...
