I am in the process of installing the Pursuit track system on my Crestliner 1750. I don't want to rush into it and screw it up. In mounting the track itself how have some other users done it. The screws provided are not long enough and will screwing them just in the gunnel work.

Any advice or ideas are welcome.

Thanks

Jeff let me try and explain what I did as I don't have the name of them off hand here. I used the rubber things with the nut built into them. You drill a half inch hole put then in and as you tighten then up they swell and fill the holes. I actualy did not have access to the underside of my gunnel so that was my only option but I beleive that is the best way to mount the tracks secure and not have to deal with washers.

I just had my first look at the system yesterday from my Patriot Rep in Michigan. Could you please describe what the system does? I am sure there are many here who don't know about it yet.

Lets start by listing what the system sonsist of: tracks, blocks, inserts, rod holders, downrigers and maybe more.

Now basicly you install these tracks to the gunnels of your boat they come in 6" to 48" sizes, they are a little over 2 inches wide and maybe 1/2 inch high. I have the 24" ones.

Secondly I have the down east rod holders custom blocks, I have 2 of them for each track. These blocks can be placed anywhere on the tracks and easily removed by simple thumb screws. Now they have a custom grove cut out of them to receive the Salty S-10s double clamps down east rod holders.

Now you can remove your blocks and rod holders and place these plastic inserts into the tracks to turn them into stepping plates for easyer boarding for the familly.

Now you can get other rod holders from persuit that can be put direcly into these tracks as well as mounting blocks for downriggers.

Here is a picture of my setup, well I hope it loads as I have never tried it on the newer board.
