Posts: 192 | I caught this fish on St Clair a couple of weeks ago. The charter guys said it was a Silver Muskie. One of them told me he has only seen a couple of these fish in 30 years there. I'm not sure but it definitely has different colors than the normal St Clair Spotted Muskies. I've caught a lot of Clear Muskies over the years at Cave Run and Green River in Kentucky but this is not like those fish. Anyway, I thought it looked kind of cool. Posts: 1360 Location: Lake "y" cause lake"x" got over fished | I was thinking maybe it was a blue pike and not a muskie. But after doing a little research I am pretty sure its not a blue pike as show from a previous poster below. But they looked similar so I thought I would speculate. That is an interesting fish, beautiful and cool for sure http://muskie.outdoorsfirst.com/board/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=27... Edited by FAT-SKI 7/28/2014 8:19 PM

Posts: 558 | Thats a sweet looking musky. Congrats! A 50 inch silver would be the ultimate replica for the wall. Wonder what the biggest silver ever caught is?

Posts: 192 | IDK, someone smarter than me would need to answer that. I just know that I've never caught one with those colors. Made my day.

Posts: 1141 Location: NorthCentral WI | No doubt that is one pretty fish. Looks like the markings of a lake trout except the spots are dark instead. Whatever it is I think it looks more blue than silver. I would feel lucky to reel in such a rare fish. If a musky is the fish of 10,000 casts, this must be the fish of 10,000,000.

Posts: 192 | hawkeye9 - 7/29/2014 11:26 AM Awesome catch, Larry! Considering a replica? Certainly would be very cool. No plans for a replica, I'm not sure I'm really into replicas.......but then don't ask me to explain why I have a 10' long marlin replica hanging in my sun room. I think the Cervezas got to me that day. This fish was only 41" long, so even though I like the colors not sure it is big enough anyway. I actually caught a much larger normally colored Spotted Muskie on this trip but that fish had all kinds of nasty scars and lamprey marks on it so it didn’t make for the best photos. Posts: 192 | I caught it while on vacation in Cabo San Lucas Mexico. Got talked into a replica, which I later regretted. So now the #*^@ thing takes up an entire wall in my house and my wife is really fond of it!

Posts: 360 Location: Algonac, MI | Your fish is not a Silver muskie, it is actually a "Clear" muskie. One of the 4 strains in LSC. (despite MDNR denial) Great lakes spotted Clear Silver Tiger Looking for a pic of a silver.

Posts: 1283 | Still looks silver to me with some markings. The clear you posted is not silvery/blue at all to me. Nothing like the OPs fish. The Silver you posted is very close minus the spots.

The Silver you posted is very close minus the spots. I agree. I didn't think the "clear" one looked anything like the original poster's fish.
