| I am making a trip to Northern Minnesota later this month and plan to do some trolling. What do you recommend for a rod and reel for trolling, without breaking the bank? I plan to use 10 inch Jakes and Trolling Girls. Also, for line, is 100 lb. PowerPro a good choice, or is mono better since it has some stretch to it? |

| shimano TDR and okuma magda 20 or 30 reel will work and won't break the bank. a lot of people use the 8'6 heavy rod. i use northland muskie braid in 80lb test on my trolling gear, and a 3 ft 130lb fluorocarbon leader.
I've also heard of using uglystick, i'm not sure what size and weight people use on that. |

Location: ON | While I run and like TDR's for medium sized body baits. I do not like it for bucktails, much too soft expecially running 4+mph.
