Posts: 1283 | Chipped the guide in the tip of a MI Bulldawg rod and need a replacement. Is there anywhere in Northern IL I can go pick one up or is this something that needs to be ordered? Thanks!

Posts: 20211 Location: oswego, il | If you can take the whole guide off then bass pro, cabelas ect carry rod tips and glue. If its just the insert, maybe MI can help you.

Posts: 1283 | Just the insert chipped but I want to replace the entire guide. Ill swing over to Cabelas and see if they have the proper guide.

Posts: 4053 Location: Land of the Musky | Tip tops are an easy fix. Shoot me an email. [email protected] I might have an extra tip top you can have too if you can let me know the dia of the tip of the rod once you remove the current tip top. James

Posts: 1283 | Thanks James that is very cool of you even though it isnt your rod. Next rod I buy will be a TI for sure, not only because they are great rods but also because I have a nice amount of your lures and the customer service is top notch! I picked this one up as a loaner for 80bucks new and now I know why it was so cheap. Pretty sure the guy using it kept reeling the leader into the insert and eventually chipped it costing me a Dominatrix He swears it must have happened in the truck but I dont see chipping the inside of the insert that way. Had to be the leader. I did take the old one off but havent measured it yet. I will let you know if I dont find one locally or get one from MI. Thanks again that is VERY generous of you. Posts: 1283 | Called MI and they gave me a number to the rod builder. Left him a message but havent heard back. Local shop is going to fix it tomorrow for a few bucks. Going fishing tomorrow so it works out better.

Posts: 1710 Location: Mt. Zion, IL | My older MI rods had the tip that has a foot that had to be tied to the rod. Hope this information helps you out some...

Posts: 4053 Location: Land of the Musky | Even the best of the best tip tops will chip. Hence TI rods going to a alloy guides. Checked out Migizi rods a few years ago and noticed they use all alloy guides and they are nice! Definitely the way to go IMO. Even our new bass and walleye rods for 2015 will have alloy guide rings. Have a good week Mike. James
