If you catch a big pike, beeline it to a big musky spot! A tip from Tom Gelb.

When I fish for pike with my wife. She generally puts some bigger ones in the net. But I have been seeing a ton this year musky fishing as well. Buddy popped a 35" pike the other day on a 10" Jake on a metro lake. But like I said, My wife and I do pretty dang well for decent sized pike most of the year. Especially two years ago. If I had ten hands I still couldn't count all the ones she caught that eclipsed 30".

I have mainly fished western Wisconsin this year and I have noticed the same thing over here. Lots of 30+ inch pike, and they are biting all different types of baits from topwaters, dawgs, and bucktails.

Noticed the same here in southern Wisco.. quite a few 33"-38" pickerel, more than normal for me. Eating anything from 10s, topwater to large cranks? Kind of odd same consensus as above. Cant complain about nice pikies

We have caught a good handful of over 30" pike this year a bunch in the upper 20s and only one dink. Not sure where the hammer handles are hiding.

I've caught more pike over 28 inches this year than the last five combined.
