Location: Lake Geneva, WI | I need help figuring out how to get my lower unit back in.... I replaced the water pump last night. When removing the lower unit I had the boat in neutral. When I try and put the lower unit back in it stops about 1 inch short. I'm sure it is the spines/teeth not lining up. I have turned the drive shaft and that still does not help. (motor 95 Mercury 175hp EFI)
Does anyone have any insite on what I am missing or need to do? Thanks for any assistence!
Mike

| Sorry, I saw you were turning the shaft.
Try turning it just a little at a time. It has to go. Also, make sure the water tube and the shift rods are lined up.
