I am installing a lss2 and skimmer transducer on 14ft aluminum ,the bottom of boat is prety well flat and the instructions say to keep the lss2 aprox 1/16 below bottom,Should i drop the lss2 a little lower and put the skimmer flush

Hiya,

I would say mount them as per instructions. Both need to be running in "clean" water so determining mounting location is important... Be watch Gil of rivet lines on the main stringers of the hull running the length. Otherwise it should be pretty straight forward.

You can use a board or something clamped onto the transom to test several mounting locations--especially for the lss ducer you will almost certainly need to play around with mounting it to avoid having the view blocked by the engine lower unit, etc.
