My 2005 115 optimax is leaking oil from the upper head. I'm assuming it is the dfi oil but what would cause it to leak out and puddle on the floor?

Are you absolutely sure it's the DFI Oil? It could be lower unit lube being pushed out the top seal. I've seen this before.

Easiest way to check is to loosen the Lower unit fill screw, and see if water comes out. If so, then you have a bad prop shaft seal. Remove the prop and check for fishing line wrapped up and past the seal. Then get the seal replaced, along with new lube.

My boats in the shop to get the leak fixed. What they think happened is I over filled the tank and ran the motor do to pressure i blew the little valve on top of the tank. That's where the oil is leaking from. Any one else cause a leak by over filling the oil tank?
