Posts: 1000 | How'd everyone do? Despite the rain, we managed three follows, three separate strikes, and one fish. The fish came just as we were yelling to another boat where they were landing a fish. Happened just as warmer air passed through the west metro. 2 hot follows on Mega Trout D's 2 strikes + 1 follow on 6" soft tail phanton fish came on a jr double cowgirl

Caught two today, first fish came early before the rain moved through the metro and was a 36.5" Tiger caught on an 8" Phantom. The second fish was 33" pure caught on 6" phantom. Had a hand full of follows and a few more strikes of undetermined origin. I am going to call it an opening day win!

Posts: 40 | Was on Tonka at about 845. Wanted to be out 3 hours earlier but rain didn't cooperate. 3 guys in boat 4 follows with a mid 40 swinging and missing in 8. Did catch 3 Northern and 7 Bass. Saw a dead Walleye floating that was all of 30 too.....Wish I was there now...

Posts: 200 Location: Twin Cities | I went out on eagle and I am totally lost on that lake. Fished in a few areas with a big spinnerbait and got weeds every time. Switched to the bass rod and a 1/2 oz spinnerbait and right at the end a fish swam up and took it and I thought it was a muskie for a second but it was a large northern and I tried to set the hook and bring him into the boat in one motion as we didn't have a net and I thought he would break my rod. Probably was stupid as he took the lure off my line and no fish. Not sure how he got the lure off of my steel liter but he did.

Posts: 1247 Location: Walker, MN | I got in about two hours of casting and had a nice mid-40" fish blow up on my Hellhound about 25' from the boat. I saw her coming, got a great broadside view of her and she left a big boil for my bro to see too. No hook-up but a nice way to start the season and finally get the blood pumping again. Hoping to get out again this evening.

Posts: 705 Location: Alex or Alek? | Was out on Mantrap on Saturday and Had 9 follows all day until the battery died. We had 6 up by noon but nothing wanted to take it. I had one turn on the figure 8 but ended up dropping back away. Got out Sunday morning on another lake up that way and didn't see a thing. Edited by MOJOcandy101 6/9/2014 8:24 AM

Posts: 98 | Got out Saturday evening for a few hours and hooked up with a fat 48. Wish I would've had a GoPro, she smoked my 10" Jake right at boatside. Saw her come from under the boat and just inhaled it. Fun stuff.

Posts: 183 Location: Grand Forks ND | We caught three on opening weekend in West-Central Minnesota. Probably saw 12-15 fish overall. All action was on Invaders and Depth Raiders. No action on blades or rubber. Water temps were around 67. One fish my buddy caught had some pigment loss through the midsection.
