Posts: 41 | Anyone have any water temps in NW Ontario? Have the muskies started spawning yet? Is it June 21st yet?

Posts: 114 Location: Kingston, Ontario | On Great Lakes they have started to move into the spawning areas now. Main lake temperature here is close 55-60 on surface, the bays were as high as 68 depending on water colour.

Posts: 41 | Thats good news. I think that would mean they all should be done and mostly recovered from spawning come opener

Posts: 187 Location: West Metro, MN | I was on the English River system last week and the water in the main lake had warmed up to about 45 by the end of the week, but the spawing bays were in around 60-62. Pike were all post spawn.

Posts: 68 | Just got back from a week at Tetu Island Lodge. We were after trophy pike but ran in to a musky or two. Temps ranged from 45 up the English to the high 60's in the protected bays further south. Managed my PB pike at 42". Landed countless other fish in the mid to high 30's, including this chunk of a pike at only 34". The musky went 45" and looked spawned out. Saw one fish that was pushing 50" and close to 40#. It was the most massive fish I have ever seen in my life. The back had to be nearly a foot wide, obviously a heavy female that had yet to spawn.
