Anybody have any info about this reel? Looking for reviews both good and bad. Will it hold up to daily use? I throw heavy glides blades and rubber. Thinking I would pair it with a 9' xh TI. Thanks for any input.

I have had one out about 10 times now and it has handled some abuse. Still too early to tell on longevity, but so far so good. Have thrown regular dusa's, bucks, and gliders with it and the only issue that I have ran into is that it bail doesn't close from time to time and I have had to manually close it. Still need more time with it, but for the price, it seems legit.

Sorry, spool will not engage after a cast! Handle turns and no go! Have to pull up on the thumb bar manually!

Got mine paired with a TI XXH 9' and it's got me a musky already this year. No complaints. Only two full days on the water so far though.

On a new reel? That's clearly defective. Take it back and get a replacement or refund.

Love mine. Caught my first muskie on it the other day. Have thrown a few 10's but mainly use it for gliders n jerkbaits.

I just purchased a Lexa 400HL and right out of the box, the reel did not auto engage all the time after pressing the thumb bar. I spooled it anyways to test it on the water. I used it today for a good chunk of time, the auto engage kept acting up to the point I put it away. When it did work, I was impressed with the reel. It's not too big to palm and it was pulling double 8's like mepps. It handled double 10s pretty good and it was easy to burn them to the point of almost blowing them out. I don't think you can throw double 10s all day with the reel though. It gets the job done but after awhile my hand started cramping up. This was my first Diawa purchase and the thumb bar issue kinda put a sour taste in my mouth. I can only hope that their customer care makes a lasting impression.....I guess I will see on monday.

i had the same problem with my 400hs right hand and I took it apart and found a little chunk of aluminum in where the gears are. (probably a burr from when it was being machined) took it out and haven't had any issues since.

I'm considering getting this to replace my Saltist as a d10 reel. Why don't you think you could throw d10s all day BrianT? Too awkward in your hands? Because of paddle handle?

What rod would you pair with this if you were throwing gliders dawgs blades and the occasional topwater?

I actually used the 400hs for 15 hours last week threw pounders, 10" glide baits, and 10" weagles and it was awesome. Id personally use something else for blades. The 7:1:1 gear ratio is to high but it could probably cook dub 8s in good. Had it paired with the 9' assault stick from chaos tackle shock and awe and it was perfect

How well could the 6:3.1 bring in 10's?

I had all 3 I tried the 400h for dub 10s and it was okay, I have the tranx so I don't use the 400h for anything but mag rubber, shadzillas, big glides

Probably cuz not many folks have them and there is a lot of curiosity about them. I bought a 400 PWR-P but haven't used it yet. Sure feels solid though. Can't wait to give it a try.

Have a left handed 6.3. It brings in 10s just fine. I only threw 10s for maybe an hour or so but it did a great job. Good speed and relatively easy. Threw 8s as well. These came in like nothing. The 6.3 also gives you the option to get some decent speed as well.

Love the reel. Extremely smooth casting. Only negative is that everything on it is backwards for me. Kinda of jenky that they did not change the machining for us lefties

Bought a 400 Pwr-r also used it a little to dial in but haven't gotten any heavy use yet not till tomorrow when season opens. In dialing it in at the dock tossing a big double willow blade it pulled super easy.

Anyone know where I can find prices for chaos tackle rods? Not seeing them listed on their website. Thanks
