Ok I'm gonna take this topwater fishing more serious this year, and I was wondering what reel would be a good investment for topwater fishing? Would I need something different and I can only afford about 100 bucks so don't go crazy on me with those 250-300 dollar reels!!! heheh. thanks alot guys

I use a slower retrieve reel for topwater, a personal preference. Any good casting reel will do the trick, my reels are 5600 c models, the smaller profile series.

Maybe I'm weird but.....no I had better rephrase that! I see no reason to purchase a special reel for topwater fishing. Any reel that you feel comfortable with will work fine. The retrieve gear ratio shouldn't be any big deal because, if you are like me, your wrist comes in all different
speeds when it is attached to a reel handle!
