I know there was a #*#* load of ice a week or two ago. I was hearing between 20-24". The weather has been warm and this week looks like it will be warm with some rain mixed in. This should help I would think. Does anybody know what is actually going on? I am speaking of the lakes in the Webster area.

Backwater ramp is open. Backwater Lake is 50+% open. The channel is open to Yellow Banks - and some guy on a 4-wheeler drove past (on the ice) maybe 150 yards from my boat. The main lake is solid. Good news - it was great to be on the water and the boat ran perfectly. Bad news - I'll post elsewhere.

This rain and wind should definitely help the process of opening things up.

As much rain as they are getting right now you may be able to float a boat on top of the ice!!!!!!!!!

Saw a pic of some dead shad in Webster. Any info on how the other lakes did? Hope to be out there next weekend. This winter was brutal!!!

Dead shad typical of a hard winter. Will be a tough pre spawn bite.
