| Hi,
Purchased a new rig this year and the last think i want to do is just put generic numbers on it. I'd like it to match the current Skeeter look with font etc.
Anyone go custom? Anyone have them painted?
Looking for some recommendations in the Minneapolis metro area.

| There's got to be a small window tinting/sign shop that does vinyl in the area.. I'd bring the boat right there, they can measure it up so it fits just right and get whatever font and color looks best/you like. Shouldn't be much more expensive then buying a generic letter kit. A smaller shop would probably even apply it for you, so it'd be straight and you know there's no bubbles or anything.

Location: WI | Nice to hear I'm not the only 1. I got my registration #'s in the same font & color shade to match on my Navigator 6 years ago. Most any sign/banner business can make them for you. Was it necessary, no. Does it look alot better, oh ya. |

Location: Sawyer County, WI | I had these guys do the registration numbers for my Lund: http://www.lettertech.com/boat_numbers.htm They match other boat manufacturers as well.
I was very pleased with the result. It appears as if it came from the factory with the registration numbers already attached.

| Check your local laws, there are rules regarding font size, color , and spacing . |

| I just did a 14 foot aluminum boat I bought, and from recollection it said they must be on front half of vessel on both sides, read from left to right, 3 inch high "block" letters, colors must contrast with backround to appear legible, letters must be separated from numbers by at least 2 inches, and registration decal must be 3 inches behind (towards stern) of number... they major one here is "block" letter and "contrasting backround".... leaves some room for warden discretion, but when I asked- they basically said it needs to be easily read from a reasonable distance... don't put black letters on a black boat, and don't use heirglyphic lettering and you should be fine.

| I think the only way it becomes a problem is when they use it simply for a reason to stop you, and say maybe you had one to many barley pops walleye or perch fishing. I know some lakes where this happens. |
