Show has me inspired to get a rod built. I am a St. Croix guy. I've never used a predator rod. Can somebody comment on the difference between the legend tournament blank vs the predator blank. I'd go with the sling blade blank or a heavy? Predator. Thanks in advance

I've found the predators to have a faster tip, but they fall nicely in between the legends in my opinion they are in this order of action. I can't decide if the big nasty is ahead or behind the XH yet. All the predators can be 9' if that sways your decision.

I agree with 5th Lake Brad. The Predator blank loads differently (faster tip) and seem to fall in between SC Legend rods. The nice feature of Predator blanks is that you can work with Thorne Bros and take an inch off the top at a time and get the exact action you want.

Thanks for responses. Talked with St. Croix. St. Croix rep was very helpful in demonstrating the differences. I went with the Predator XH. It will be a nice rod
