Possibly heading up to cass lake this summer to go fishing for a bachelor party, July-early Sept. Looking for lodging and timing recommendations and I'm curious about the lakes that branch off from Cass. There will be 3 of us fishing out of a 16.5" alumacraft classic series and if the wind comes up I'm thinking we may be more comfortable moving to one of the smaller lakes. We had thought about Leech but once again there's is the concern about how well the boat will handle it.

Sunset Cove Resort. Tucked back in Allen's bay. No need to worry about smaller lakes. But you'll always have that option close by.

Plenty of spots to get out of the wind . The boat is plenty big enough just dont get in a big hurry moving from spot to spot if it gets rough

I think Sunset Cove's owner is a muskie guy. Allen's bay is protected from every direction and easy to fish...main lake, well not so much so use discretion and expect to work a bit harder to learn spots. You can go into Andrusia from Allen's which is also good water.

Thanks for the advice, I'll look at Sunset. I'm also wondering if anyone has fished little wolf lake and has had success? I read on one site that it used to be a brood lake and so has a good number of fish in it.

Little Wolf still receives stocking as far as I know--not sure if it's MN DNR (I think it's still a broodstock lake) or the tribe. The public launch was closed on it last year (I guess large boats couldn't use it anyway), so you have to use the resort launch at Viewpoint Lodge for $6 or $7. Older guy owns the place, he's helpful, it's a gravel launch and you kinda have to back up a long ways straight then curve down to get around a cabin. Personally, I'd probably stick it out on Cass during that timeframe. Little Wolf can get into dangerous water temps mid season (it's only 20' deep) if it's hot.
