Posts: 337 Location: Watersmeet, Michigan | I wouldn't worry about the shape of the hull but: 1. Condition? 2. Motor? 3. Trolling motor or electronics? Fr. K

Posts: 48 | I have a 2004 Alaskan, 18 footer. Excellent boat. It would be easy to replace any wood, and that seems like a great deal. Mine handles rough water great, lots of room, shallow draft. I personally like being close to the water, vs on a deck. Deeper figure eights and easier to net fish. Without all that decking and extra weight, the capacity of great and people is huge. Only drawback for me, is the lack of waterproof storage. I use Tupperware containers for anything that needs to stay dry. Love the Alaskan.

Posts: 337 Location: Watersmeet, Michigan | Of course you can reprint a Lund, but if you're going to get a good paint job it's going to run you at least $1500. Full Lund decal set is $850 (I know this first hand), 90 - 115 hp outboard will be around $9000 with rigging. Add all that to the initial four grand, and you can easily spend at 15 grand or more. Decking? Floor covering? Unless I were able to do the work myself, I'd look for a nice, fully rigged, used boat. Fr. K Edited by Yooper Padre 3/16/2014 11:22 AM

Posts: 84 | im not sure where you are located but Craigslist in the Detroit area and toldeo always has Lund Alaskans for sale some for great prices, and the new IPS hull is nice but the previous hull was great too so i wouldn't make that a deal breaker especially if you find a really great deal
