I just bought my 2009 Tuffy 1760T with a 75hp Merc 4stk EFI. The boat came with a 3 blade aluminum prop. I'm looking buy a 4 blade aluminum prop for better hole shot and engine performance (I'm not concerned with top end speed). My question is what 4 blade pitch would give me the best performance for my rig?

Hiya,

I would consider a 4 blade solas propeller in as close of a diameter as you can get to what you have currently, but 2 inches lower in pitch. The solas prop will have thinner blades, but they will flex less than a standard 4 blade aluminum. The prop is cupped as well, which will help hold the water better. The ears will be a little more rounded, but that adds to handling.

In my experiences with them, their props perform closer to a steel prop.

Steve
