Location: Bristol, IN | I'm just curious as to what one actually has to do in order to be 100% legal to guide LSC. What are the legal requirements to guide on LSC?
Please reply so others know what it actually takes to do it the "RIGHT" way.
Also, feel free to reply RE: other state lakes. |

| USCG license, in Mich waters you need a State of Mich inspection which is done by a CO. Both the Feds and the state DO NOT MESS AROUND. It's pretty cut and dried. In Ontario you need a federal inspection only. This is self inspected but the requirements are similar in scope to Michigan waters. You do the Ontario inspection yourself to their specs and it is pretty in depth. Don't think that this an easier route either because the Canadian gov't showed up at my residence one day for a suprise inspection because in their words, "Wanted to see if you are who you say you are and that the vessel meets the requirements". Luckily I take it serious and they could see that. You will see these stickers on the boat used in both waters.
