How many trolling and casting leaders would you guys recommend for a week long trip up in Ontario?

I'm buying 36in 130lb Stealth trolling leaders and 14in 180lb casting leaders. Thanks for the advice!

no more of 3 of each if you are using Leaders and Lure 19 and 21 strand stainless steel leaders, they last and last and last and last and last................ The only way you'd need a new one is you hung up on the bottom and broke the line.

If you are going to be trolling structure (banging rock) I would buy Stealth Tackles 1x7 strand coated 90# wire leaders that are 36"- Or have him make longer ones for you. I ordered 60" the last time I went. If you are trolling open water the Floro will be fine. Since you can only run 1 rod per person, I would get 4 if you will be trolling a lot. Never know if you get bait hung up and have to cut line then there goes a leader also.
Casting I would bring 6-8 just to be sure. Better off having too many than not enough. Stealth's leaders is a very good choice
Again if you are rubbing a lot on rocks, catching a lot of fish or having fish get leader in mouth, check for nicks often and replace it if even in question at all. Never know when that fish of a lifetime will hit.

If you are trolling structure, breaks, rocks, I would get 4 ft - 4 1/2' wire leaders. 3 ft leaders in Canada, you are asking for trouble!!! IMO.

Would you recommend wire or fluro for casting jerk baits? Sorry for all the questions, getting ready for my first big trip.

There is no best answer for this question. You are going to get a lot of different guys set ups for sure. The only question I would ask is why the 180#? What do you feel comfortable with wire or fluro? Snaps and swivels or rings would be more of a concern than having too little or too much line strength. Most fluro guys use 80 to 130# and about the only time that breaks is if you get hung or cut off by structure. Drag pressure for most good reels is around 20#. You would probably break your rod before you will break 80 to 130#. Just me yaking!! Lol
