Posts: 1202 Location: Money, PA | I have some paints that are over a year old. What color are you spraying or do they all seem to be spattering like that?...I tend to know the colors that dry out quicker in the brush and use fine netting doubled up under each cap working as a bit of a filter.... and when spraying those colors, keep your needle clean out on the end...off the top of my head...metallic, red, white and black are usually the worst for me. You might also want to try to examine your brass nozzle for any debris or damage out on the end. I have one which is going bad...you'll know when your needle protrudes more than normal. Also try bumping up the pressure. Good Luck.

Posts: 672 Location: Moses Lake, WA | I use Createx and it has lasted nearly 3 years. I ran into a similar problem however when I ordered some new paint in the winter and it was shipped during a very cold period. Lots of problems, especially with pearlized paints. Identical paint shipped in the summer shoots fine, paint shipped in the winter nothing but grief.

Posts: 1224 Location: Okoboji | buy some 4012 or 4011 auto air reducer... reduce your paints and put on the minimum in multiple coats does wonders with atomization

Posts: 672 Location: Moses Lake, WA | I've tried adding 4012 reducer as high as 1:1 to a previously frozen pealized white and although it shoots slightly better it still has problems, whereas the non-frozen pearlized white shoots fine unreduced. I've also tried pre-heating the paints in a hot box (86F) prior to spraying and still have problems with all the winter delivered paints. Whatever the problem is neither severe reduction nor heating are resulting in having the paint recovery its ease of shooting. Edited by Gringo Loco 2/18/2014 3:37 PM

Posts: 496 | The needle CAP part was a little bent too , not sure if that could cause it to sputter but it seems to be good now , thanks for the input
