Posts: 200 Location: Twin Cities | This will be my second year muskie fishing, I caught a 33" late last year and I can't wait to get back out there. Being so new I am still picking up a lot of information on baits. I caught mine with a TI spinner bait and my other baits include TI dingo, TI dominatrix double 10 bucktail, and a super bayou 10. Looking to buy several baits and wondering what I should get. Color would be appreciated, thanks. Also I fish in Minnesota on Leech, Mille Lacs, Independence, and plan to hit Minnetonka this year. I plan to mainly be on Independence on Minnetonka.

Posts: 192 Location: Quebec, Canada | Bull Dawg Magnum Size / SuperD / Medussa Depth Raider Super Shad Rap Bucktails I don't fish these bodies of water so I couldn't really be of any help for colors, but there’s a post about color…I would say that the most common ones that came out are probably black, white, firetiger and perch paterns.

Posts: 427 Location: Planet Meltdown | Bucktails & spinner baits will catch you fish or at least help you located them. Can't go wrong with a Suick, Reef Hawg, Leo, Sledge, Phantoms, Hell Hounds for jerk / glide baits. Crank baits - Grandmas, Jakes, Triple D's, Believers Top Waters - Weagle (must have IMO) Top Raider Rubber - Bull Dawgs, Medussa, Suzy Sucker That will cover a lot of diffrent presentations. Remember, baits are like tools each one has it's place. Try not to go too crazy and blow all you money on baits LOL. Have fun and good luck!

Posts: 1000 | There's an article from Dick Pearson (the master) http://www.in-fisherman.com/2011/06/27/the-masters-muskie-lures/ I'd tweak for the waters. Indy is very green so brighter lures with a lot of thump can make a difference. Minnetonka tends to be darker on the western/northern end and clearer on the other end. Just have to get on the lake. I tend to be a black/nickel, white/nickel, and bright colors kind of guy. I just change sizes and speeds alot until something works.

Posts: 192 | 1 spinner bait esox custom tackle 15 1 Dadson 9mm bullet 25-28 or DCG 1 Medusa 18-20 or Bulldawg 1 American Hardwood Mini 32-34 or a Top Raider 1 Hammer Crank Bait 20 Buy quality over quantity this list is around 120 dollars and the lures will last. I can't stand catching only a fish or two on a lure then not have that lure run right. These are some great choices but it all comes down to what you like to throw which is usually what you have success with.
