I have one battery testing bad and one testing ok. Am I ok to replace one or should i replace both? Does it effect the new battery being wired in series with an old battery?

If you can afford both I would do it..
But.. Up on Gb one time we had a couple year old battery die.. Replaced just the one, and I'm pretty sure my buddy used them like that for years..

Do both If you can

Replace them both. One will draw the other one down. If you have no choice it will work. Two new will hold a charge better. In construction and trucking it is not an acceptable practice to replace a single battery in multi battery system, series or parallel.
